Viva Gym, Hillfox, Johannesburg, South Africa was using KRS – gym and membership management software for managing all membership and payment related processes as they wanted to focus more on members than the admin work. They were having approximately 4000 users for that location. Now, they wanted to control access to the gym at 3 entries. The 2 entries are having turnstile for normal people and 1 entry with simple door for handicapped people. They wanted hygienic system for their gym considering health of people. The biggest challenge is to integrate with KRS – gym and membership management software. As, they wanted to have all membership details from KRS software to access control software for controlling access. All the details of the member like name, date of joining, date of completion of membership, address proof; ID proof should be there with the software which controls the entry. Based on the detail in the application server, the person is allowed/denied at entry. The software should know the gym time and hours for particular member as well as day & time of membership completion, depending on it the access can be blocked on account overdue status for that person. One of the needs is to control the entry for handicapped people; where biometric technology can’t serve perfectly. Viva gym wanted to eliminate the people for managing all these activities because it takes more efforts, gives less satisfactory results and makes the gym processes complicated. They wanted to give more facilities & safety to the members.

Solution Offered

Looking at a complete process of the gym, Matrix has offered *** *4 COSEC DOOR PVR- a palm vein based access control and time- attendance terminals, *** * a COSEC DOOR CAW- *** * a RFID card based wireless access control and *** * Time-Attendance terminal for handicapped people, *** * COSEC LE PLATFORM and 3 COSEC LE USERS 1000. *** * 2 COSEC DOOR PVR are installed at 2 entries of gym for controlling access. 2 COSEC DOOR PVR are installed at 2 entries of admin department for enrollment purpose. 1 COSEC DOOR CAW is installed at main entry of the gym for handicapped people. *** * COSEC CENTRA Application software is integrated with KRS – gym and membership management software via Web API. As, the new member enters all the details – name, date of joining, date of completion of membership, address proof, ID proof and makes payment; one 3 digit PIN is generated from KRS which goes to COSEC application software. This 3 PIN digit is valid for 3 times only. Now, when member comes to the gym he/she will use this 3 digit PIN then he/she needs to enroll palm for the further use. 3 times member can use this PIN after that it won’t allow access. Member must have to enroll palm for further access. In case of handicapped member, member has to collect RFID card from admin for access to the gym. When member tries to access with palm, the palm template is verified with template stored in PVR as well as template stored in local server for faster verification process. For reducing palm rejection, multiple templates capturing option has been given; total 5 different templates have been taken for 1 user. So, if palm position is varied then it will not raise the problem of access denied due to wrong palm position because different palm templates have been taken with all possible palm positions at the time of enrollment. KRS – gym and membership management software as well as COSEC server keeps the track of membership duration, as membership duration will complete, the credential will be disabled automatically.
